Experience

One of Gilbert McGloan Gillis’ newest associates, Derek is already enjoying the practice of law and looking forward to a promising career ahead. 

Coming from an IT background gives Derek a no-nonsense approach that aids in logically reaching clients goals in a time sensitive fashion.  His knowledge of technology also gives him a number of advantages in today's practice, ranging from documentary collection and processing, to discovery on e-data issues, and finally to the use of current technologies in preparing and performing presentations in the court room.

Born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, Derek has now made Saint John his home.  Derek is a very active individual and spends much of his free-time in the summer and fall on the rugby pitch, having played rugby in the Province at various levels for the past 10 years.
